Take Back the Media

“Of course the people do not want war. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it is a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism” Herman Goering-Nazi Leader-Nuremberg Trial

Finally Lou Dobbs gets it right, and he is the only one

The hypocrisy of our government about the border issue

By: Sam Robinson / August 9, 2006 www.takeback-themedia.blogspot.com/

It is not very often that we hear major issues discussed with accuracy on the television, but tonight on the Lou Dobbs Show, he nailed it on the head. He was the only commentator that I saw on television that night or better yet ever discuss the case where two US Border Patrol agents have been convicted and facing 20 years in prison for crimes committed while chasing a drug smuggler at the border of the US and Mexico. The two agents, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, are facing a variety of charges ranging from, discharging a firearm in relation to a violent crime too shooting the man in the buttocks while he was fleeing.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Debra Kanof, “Ramos and Compean had no business chasing someone in the first place”. How dare this woman chastise these men for doing their job, trying to stop drugs from entering this country and protecting America? This is clearly inconceivable that the Border Patrol is not allowed to chase individuals according to their policy and the Daily Bulletin based out of Los Angelos California. Ramos is even a former nominee for Border Patrol Agent of the Year and this is how they treat. This is another clear cut case to show people who think they are immune from the government’s hypocrisy, you are not!

Although they have been convicted Compean tells his side of that days events to the Bullentin:
On Feb. 17, 2005, Compean was monitoring the south side of a levee road near the Rio Grande on the U.S.-Mexico border in Fabens when he spotted a suspicious van driving down the north end of the road. He called for backup. Ramos headed to Fabens, where he thought he could intercept the van at one of only two roads leading in and out of the small town. Another agent was already following the van -- with Aldrete-Davila at the wheel -- when Ramos arrived. Ramos and the other agent followed the van through the center of town until it turned back toward the Rio Grande, which marks the border between Mexico and the United States. Aldrete-Davila, unable to outrun the agents, stopped his van on a levee, got out and started running. Compean was waiting for him on the other side of the levee. "We both yelled out for him to stop, but he wouldn't stop, and he just kept running," Ramos said. Aldrete-Davila made his way through a canal, and Ramos could hear Compean yelling for Aldrete-Davila to stop, he said. "At some point during the time where I'm crossing the canal, I hear shots being fired," Ramos said. "Later, I see Compean on the ground, but I keep running after the smuggler." Ramos watched as Aldrete-Davila turned toward him, pointing what appeared to be a gun. "I shot," he said. "But I didn't think he was hit, because he kept running into the brush and then disappeared into it. Later, we all watched as he jumped into a van waiting for him. He seemed fine. It didn't look like he had been hit at all." Compean had picked up his shell casings. Ramos did not, though he failed to report the shooting. This is one of the key arguments against the agents. "The supervisors knew that shots were fired," Ramos said. "Since nobody was injured or hurt, we didn't file the report. That's the only thing I would've done different." The van later was found to have about 800 pounds of marijuana inside.

Another interesting twist to this story is that, more than two weeks after the shooting, a Department of Homeland Security investigator, acting on a tip from a Border Patrol agent in Arizona, tracked down Aldrete-Davila in Mexico, offering him immunity if he testified against the agents who shot at him. The question is why would they do this? Clearly the government and their flunkies, the people in charge at the Border Patrol never had had intentions on securing the US-Mexico border and they let drug smugglers and “terrorist” come across the border everyday by leaving it wide open. This just proves more that there is no such thing as the war on drugs, nor is there a real war on terror. If so, the first thing you think any competent government or congress would do, would be to secure their own borders.

On the Lou Dobbs show it broke my heart watching Ramos’s father in law state how he has wiped out his entire retirement trying to save and find justice for his son-in-law. WAKE UP AMERICA, it is time to take a stand on so many issues. If you want to pick one, here it is, two American citizens working for the people are facing jail time for trying to secure our borders, which Bush and his neo-con hypocrites really don’t want to happen. PLEASE AMERICA WE NEED TO GET THE WORD OUT, THESE PATRIOTS HAVE LESS THAN A MONTH LEFT AS FREE MEN BEFORE THEY ARE HAULED OFF TO THE SLAVERY CAMPS (PRISON). This clearly is a sad, sad day for those fighting the good fight on the border. And to Lou Dobbs for being the one of the very few out the entire US media to cover this story, thank you and keep digging and asking more questions of this corrupt and criminal Bush Administration who is hell bent on destroying America.
